Countdown to Kickoff: 98 Days (Darius Latham)
/Written By: Nick Holmes (@HoosierHolmes)
Now just 98 days away from kickoff, we take a look at Indianapolis native Darius Latham, who is entering his third season with the Hoosiers. During his first two years in Bloomington the talented junior-to-be has played in all 24 games, starting in 10. Latham was a vital part of a defense that made some positive strides this past season, the team's first year playing in Coach Knorr's 3-4 defensive scheme. During his inaugural season in 2013 he was named an honorable mention on the BTN.com All-Big Ten Freshman.

Future Outlook
With the graduation of Bobby Richardson and the unknown future of Ralph Green III, more weight falls on the shoulders of Latham, both from a playing and leadership perspective. He has the talent and versatility to play any position along the defensive line, contingent upon down, distance, and the opposing offense's tendencies. Now as the Hoosiers look to make another leap defensively, the team will need Latham to be even more disruptive in the backfield, increasing his sack and tackles for loss totals from his first two seasons in Bloomington. There's no question that the former four-star recruit possesses the ability to make the All Conference team in 2015. If this happens, it should bode well for the overall play of the defense.
On what it's going to take for the defense to take a step forward -
