There are now 71 days remaining until the Indiana Hoosiers kick-off the 2016 season in Miami against the Florida International Golden Panthers. Join us each day for each part of our 100-day countdown to the opener! Offensive lineman Delroy Baker is wearing 71 in 2016!

Delroy Baker (Redshirt Sophomore)

-Height: 6’6”
-Weight: 305 pounds
-Hometown: Ocala, Florida
-Position: Offensive Line

Once again we find ourselves along the offensive line for the Hoosiers. This time we look at big Delroy Baker out of Florida.

Baker was a big victory in recruiting for Kevin Wilson his staff, when he committed to Indiana over Florida and Missouri. He was the 31st best tackle coming out of high school as ranked by ESPN.com and was a three time varsity letter winner. Baker also starred on the track and field team.

Baker redshirted his freshman season in 2014, while winning scout team player of the week honors against Ohio State and appeared in one contest last season, a victory at Maryland.

With the departure of lineman Tim Gardner, Baker’s role will may expand. However, Baker will probably begin the season behind Jacob Bailey and Wes Martin at left guard and Dan Feeney at right guard. Baker could also bounce outside to a tackle position if needed. Any way you look at it, the 6’6” 305-pound Baker provides quality, but unproven depth along the line.

Share any memories or expectations you have of Delroy Baker as a player in the comments section (or on the message boards) and be sure to come back to Hoosier Huddle each day during our countdown!
