The Hoosier Huddle countdown to kickoff is reaching its final stages as we’re just three weeks away from the first game. The Hoosiers kick off the 2020 season at Memorial Stadium against the Penn State Nittany Lions. Today, we’ll highlight third-year defensive back wearing the number 21 jersey, Noah Pierre.

Noah Pierre (Redshirt Sophomore)

Hometown: Hialeah, Florida

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 184 Pounds

Position: Defensive Back

Noah Pierre is a part of what is, on paper, one of the strongest position groups the Hoosiers have: safeties and huskies. Entering his third season with the Hoosiers, Pierre will hope to be an even bigger part of this already strong position group in 2020. After redshirting his first season in 2018 after just one appearance in the Purdue game, Pierre appeared in 10 games in 2019 both at safety and with special teams. He posted six tackles, half of which came for a loss. His best game came against Eastern Illinois when he posted two tackles and the half for loss.

Pierre’s best asset is his physicality and his consistency. Though he hasn’t seen substantial game action, Pierre has continued forward and waited patiently for his time on the field to show how hard of a hitter he can be. He was the 2019 spring football most improved player and received rave reviews from Tom Allen last spring.

"He's a young guy we don't talk about a lot," said Allen, "but he really flashed to me and is really consistent."

Look for Pierre to see more time in 2020, once again both at safety and running downhill to make tackles on special teams.
