We are now just two weekends away from the biggest home opener in the history of Indiana Football. 13 days is all that stands between the Hoosiers and the Ohio State Buckeyes and we get ready by taking a look at Isaac James.

Isaac James (Redshirt Sophomore)

-Height: 5’11”

-Weight: 195

-Hometown: Carmel, Indiana

-Position: Wide Receiver

James came to Indiana as one of the more intriguing prospects in the recruiting class of 2015 after scoring 40 career touchdowns for Carmel (Ind) in high school. However, James delt with an injury and had to redshirt the 2015 season where he did earn Scout Team Player of the Week for his efforts in practice leading up to the Bucket Game.

James finally saw the field in 2016 appearing in 12 games primarily on special teams making two tackles and winning Special Teams Player of the Week in the 33-27 win over Rutgers. However the staff failed to find a real home for James.

In 2017, James has been used on special teams and in the slot at receiver. He has the athletic ability to become a very good receiver for IU, but just needs to put together more consistent performances. While he still may be a year away from major playing time, James can be a consistent and productive contributor on special teams.
