It’s game week and the Hoosiers are set to take on the Illinois Fighting Illini to kick-off the 2022 season. Today we look at David Baker, an Indianapolis native looking to crack the rotation at wide receiver.

David Baker (Redshirt Sophomore)

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana

Height: 6’3”

Weight: 206 Pounds

Position: Wide Receiver

David Baker came to IU as the 5th best player in the state as part of the 2020 class. He played his high school football for Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis where he set the school record for catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.

During the 2020 season Baker saw action in only one game and due to an injury, he did not play in 2021. Baker will be fighting for a role under a new position coach, Adam Henry. The Hoosiers have had lots of turnover in the receiver room and this could be Baker’s chance to crack the rotation.
