Even though the upcoming Big Ten season is a few months behind schedule, the Hoosier Huddle 100 day countdown is back on track. Today, we’re taking a look at young gun wide receiver for the Hoosiers, Luke Shayotovich from Avon, Indiana.
Luke Shayotovich out of Avon, Indiana, has been one of the more anticipated young WRs in the Hoosier football squad. The redshirt sophomore made his career debut and caught his first pass in the Eastern Illinois win last September. The young player has a lot of upside in his game, being a fast, sure handed player in practice most of the time. Earning the offensive scout team player of the week in the Rutgers week, and the special teams scout team player of the week for the Nebraska week.
Shayotovich enjoyed quite a celebrated high school career at Avon. 116 receptions, 1500 receiving yards, over 1600 all-purpose yards, 28 touchdowns, and great grades was enough to merit the National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award in high school. He was a former and now current teammate of fellow IU football players Bryant Fitzgerald and Sampson James.
