2019 Countdown - #85

Name – Jeramy Passmore

Position – Defensive Line (Freshman)

Hometown – Miami, Florida (Christopher Columbus)

Height – 6’3”

Weight – 270

Passmore is part of the 2019 recruiting class that ranked 38th nationally and was rated as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports composite rankings. He was a do-it-all student at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami as he played four years of football and earned all-Dade County honors his senior season, played basketball and was an honor roll student. Passmore helped lead his team to the state title game as a senior as he put up 57 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. He was also a teammate of fellow Hoosier freshman tight end Gary Cooper.

After Passmore visited IU in April of 2018, he told Peegs.com’s Matt Weaver that, “They really pitched to me the great academic school they have, and how they have things a lot of other schools don’t have.” Head coach Tom Allen and his staff have preached ‘Love Each Other’ since day one and it was one of the sticking points for the youngster. “They also talked about how important family is for them” Passmore told Peegs.com, “and how they have a strong bond with the players. They have a genuine love for their players. Those are important things for me because if I went there I would be spending the next four years of my life with people that really care about me, and I know they would stick with me through thick and thin. I could tell that they really care about me as a person and a player.”

The defensive line will be under the microscope all season as they will be extremely young and in need of an injection of talent, especially at the tackle position. Listed at 270 pounds, Passmore can be one of the freshmen who get a shot to find their way on the field at the three-technique.
