The Hoosier Huddle countdown to kickoff is almost two-thirds complete. Just 39 days remain until the Hoosiers kickoff the 2019 season in Indianapolis against the Ball State Cardinals. Today we will highlight walk on tight end Ryan Barnes.

Ryan Barnes (Redshirt Freshman)

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 260 Pounds

Hometown: Noblesville, Indiana

Position: Tight End

Ryan Barnes joined the Indiana program in 2018 as a walk on out of Noblesville High School. Interestingly enough, in high school Ryan actually was a pro style quarterback operating at about 225 pounds. After redshirting last season, Barnes has added some muscle weight and joined the tight end room.

Barnes was a two-time offensive scout team player of the week against Virginia and Iowa and a one-time special team scout team player of the week against Michigan. In 2019, expect Barnes to continue his contributions to the scout team.
