The Indiana Hoosiers landed junior college transfer Chris Bradberry to shore up its offensive line depth for the 2020 season. Bradberry spent two seasons at Riverside Community College after committing to and playing a season at San Jose State coming out of high school in 2017.

“The JUCO route has been quite a journey” Bradberry told Hoosier Huddle. “It tested me to see how much I loved the sport. It truly is a struggle going to a JUCO, but it was the best decision I have ever made. It made me mature quick and work hard everyday, which I needed.”

The Hoosiers were in search of depth at the tackle position and Bradberry told Hoosier Huddle he is coming in to play right tackle. Currently, the Hoosiers have Caleb Jones at right tackle and Matthew Bedford at the left tackle position. Those two played well in 2019, but behind the Hoosiers wanted to add veteran depth behind them just in case. Bradberry played in 14 games in two seasons at Riverside C.C. according to their athletics website.

Bradberry chose Indiana because it “has everything that I was looking for in a school. Great offensive line coach in Coach Hiller. Great academics, a great strength program and an opportunity to compete against some of the best everyday.”

The six-foot-six 270-pound redshirt junior also takes coach Tom Allen’s message to heart as he said the Hoosier staff were “all amazing guys who put God and family first which is huge. They also emphasized brotherhood and working hard for the guy next to you, which I loved as well.”

Bradberry describes himself as “a hard worker and a team player. I am going to make sure that I give my best every single day so I can build trust with the guys around.”

The California native will join the team whenever possible as Indiana’s campus is still closed. When he does arrive on campus, Bradberry will have two years of eligibility left.
