Indiana has hired Air Force assistant Brian Knorr to be the new defensive coordinator for the 2014 season.  Knorr spent the last eight seasons as the Wake Forest defensive coordinator and joined Air Force in the offseason.

Knorr, 50, played quarterback at the Air Force Academy from 1982-1985.  His first coaching job came at Air Force as an assistant offensive line coach from 1992 to 1994.  In 1995 Knorr left Air Force to become the linebacker coach at Ohio University, later becoming their defensive coordinator in 1999.  He became the head coach at Ohio in 2001 and was fired in 2004 after going 11-35 over that time.  After nearly a decade in Athens, Ohio Knorr returned to Air Force to become their defensive coordinator from 2005-2007.  In 2008, Knorr became the Wake Forest defensive coordinator where he spent the last eight seasons.  Even though Wake Forest had a disappointing season Knorr’s defense ranked 32nd nationally in total defense and forced 21 turnovers in 12 games.
