The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff marches on as exactly 54 days remain until IU football kicks off at Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium. For today’s Countdown feature, we feature none other than the man who will wear the cream and crimson No. 54 jersey in 2021– Brady Feeney.

Brady Feeney

Year: Redshirt Freshman

Position: Offensive Lineman

Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 320 pounds

Brady Feeney’s life changed quickly when he was offered a scholarship as an IU offensive lineman in April of 2019, just a month after he had verbally committed to the Rice Owls. For Feeney, Indiana football immediately felt like home.

If there was a perfect man to add to the Hoosier offensive line, it is Brady Feeney. His high school resume boasts leadership qualities, dedication to academics and extracurricular activities, and his intense love for the game of football.

At Christian Brothers College High School, Feeney was a three-time all-state selection. As a team captain he led by example and played all five positions on the offensive line. Feeney was ranked the No. 23 prospect in Missouri and the No. 54 offensive guard in the nation by 247 Sports.

In his career at CBC, the Cadets carried a 31-3 record, with 2 state championships and three conference titles. Feeney was named to USA Today’s All-USA Missouri team and was invited to play USA football, but was unable to attend due to a season-ending knee injury that cut his senior season short.

Included in Feeney’s large list of accomplishments are the ones that make him the perfect player and example of the LEO culture at Indiana. Not only has he been a stellar student and jack of theatrical trades, but also a selfless servant— he started a scholarship fund at CBC that raised almost $10,000 for band and choir students in less than 2 days.

Shortly after moving to Bloomington, COVID-19 had its way with Feeney, and caused him some serious complications. The offensive lineman and his family used his story to raise awareness of the severity of the virus, and that it can seriously affect people of all ages.

Having his senior season cut short due to a knee injury, and sitting out last season due to COVID-19 and the effects it had on him have fueled Feeney’s fire for a comeback season. Now more than ever before, he is ready to prove himself.

Indiana football fans will love his style:

“I like to play nasty and quick,” Feeney told Hoosier Huddle, “I like to play very aggressive and be the first person to the point of attack. I take pride in being called the biggest bully on the football field. You aren’t supposed to be nice in the game of football.“

With his 6’4” 320-pound stature, expect he will make an impact on the offensive line, starting in 2021 and in the seasons to come.
