Kevin Wilson and his staff received their third commit for the class of 2017 as in-state athlete Bryant Fitzgerald. The 6-foot 200-pound athlete from Avon, Indiana committed while on an unofficial visit to Indiana on Saturday afternoon.

Fitzgerald is ranked by 247 Sports as the eighth best player in the state and the 675th best player in the nation. He was being recruited by Indiana coach William Inge and holds another offer from Miami (OH).

Fitzgerald projects to be a linebacker-safety hybrid that should fit in perfectly with new defensive coordinator Tom Allen's scheme. With this commitment, and it's still early, but IU's 2017 class stands at 26th nationally and fourth in the Big Ten according to 247 Sports.
