Tom Allen announced that sophomore running back Morgan Ellison is back practicing with the IU football team, but still suspended, during his weekly teleconference Tuesday afternoon. Ellison, IU’s leading rusher in 2017, was suspended from the team on August 24th.

“We still have no answer for his game opportunities” Allen said of Ellison as reported by Mike Miller of the Herald-Tribune, “but he’s been allowed to be around us on a consistent basis now, which has helped. But we still don’t know the long-term future yet, so we’re just taking it day-by-day. Being with him each day has helped. It’s helped him, it’s helped us and I enjoy being able to get that back in order.”

Prior to the season opener Allen told the media that the Ellison situation is “totally out of my hands. I have no comment.”
