Indiana’s star tight end Peyton Hendershot has been cleared to rejoin the Indiana Hoosier football program as was announced by head coach Tom Allen during a Zoom conference on Tuesday morning.

“The update is you know he has completed his team sanctioned discipline is completed the conduct process that we went through for the Student Conduct as a student athlete in Indiana University is completed that is closed as matter with the judicial system,” Allen said. “And we have a campus committee that determines if a student athlete is reinstated to a team and able to be able to be cleared, and that is the case so he's completely cleared, and he will be is back with the team now fully as he's completed all the different things that he was asked to do.”

Hendershot was suspended indefinitely in February after being arrested on multiple charges. In June, Hendershot pled guilty in June to a misdemeanor criminal trespassing charge and was also required “to receive a mental health evaluation and participate in a batterers treatment program” according to a report from the Bloomington Herald Times.

Hendershot earned All-Big Ten honors after a record year making 52 catches for 622 yards and four touchdowns. Both the number of receptions and yards are school records.
