After a Third of the Season, College Football's Big Picture is Still Being Painted

Understanding the Power 5 Conference favorites is a surefire way to prepare yourself for the NCAAF National Championship odds. With this 2021 team ahead of us, everyone will need all the forethought they can muster.

ACC Favorites

Clemson is the current favorite to win the ACC, but they aren’t predicted to make it to the CFP finale. Clemson has won the ACC 3 times in the last 6 seasons, so it's not a surprise that they are on the NCAAF Conference’s radar. But because of the scheduling conflicts on the FCS program, Clemson might not play against North Carolina, Miami, or Notre Dame. If they don’t play, then Clemson might not reach CFP, which will be the seventh season in a row that they miss!

When it comes to the players, the NCAAF Conference has its eyes on Mike Norvell. The legendary coach, Bobby Bowden, who is teamed up with Florida State University, has been giving a lot of attention to Mike Norvell, and he has openly said that he likes where the team is headed with Norvell in command. Such high praise from an untouchable coach is something for us all to look out for!

Big 12 Favorites

Oklahoma is the Big 12’s favorite to win this season, just like they have done for the last 4 years. But as history has repeated itself before, we expect it to happen again. Oklahoma is not likely to win the CFP. However, as the years have come and gone, Oklahoma has been narrowing the gap between them and the number one seed. In 2015 it was Clemson; in 2018, it was Alabama; and in 2019, it was LSU. This season, the Oklahoma defensive talent hopes to change fate!

There are two players you should look out for this season; they are Oklahoma’s Quarterback, Spencer Rattler, and Texans Running Back, Bijan Robinson. These two players are likely to be invited for the Heisman Trophy ceremony! Rattler should be no surprise to any football fanatic, as he has been the headliner for the Heisman all season because of his astonishing record of passing 3,031 yards for 34 touchdowns in just 11 games! Robinson might not have all those numbers behind his back, but he had an impressive 355 rushing yards with 6 total scores from the last two games of 2020. He is one to watch out for, as long as his coach gives him some more airtime!

Big 10 Favorites

We might have said that Indianapolis was the team to look out for at the beginning of the season, but the NCAAF conference is looking towards Ohio State now! They have created a remarkable feat of winning the last four conference championships! Ryan Day has told the world that they aimed to capitalize on any opponent’s mistakes, and boy have they done that! But just because they are on a winning streak doesn’t mean they are loosening up. Day is making them train as hard as ever to keep the successes coming!

Some news outlets are worried about Jim Harbaugh’s ability to stay in the game, but the Michigan Wolverines will likely pull it out of the bag and help Harbaugh remain for another season. We don’t think Michigan will beat Ohio, but the battle will be fierce. Without a doubt, Ohio will defeat Michigan, which will make it the 9th win in a row, creating the longest winning streak for the series. Michigan will do all they can to stop Ohio from getting that title, which is why this match will be one to watch!

Pac-12 Favorites

Ohio State has become a force to be reckoned with, but the mighty Ducks held their own when Oregon came to play. Even without their star player, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Oregon was able to control their scrimmage to create an amazing match and a proud 28 - 35 win. Knowing this is possible without their defensive end means that Oregon will give us an amazing show this season. Along with UCLA's win over LSU, the whole of the West Coast is on edge to see how these fantastic teams will shape the Pac-12 games. This is why Oregon has become a massive favorite in the NCAAF Conference.
This season, our player to look out for in the Pac-12 isn’t even a player. We are looking at Coach Chip Kelly. If that name rings a bell, then think back to the Oregon national championship game when a 19 yard field goal won the game in the last second. It was the stuff of movies, and all created by Kelly’s offense. Kelly has been back in UCLA ever since 2018, but no one has really talked about him. Cleaning up the mess that Jim Mora Jr left behind, we expect Chip Kelly to balance the books and plow through the competition this year. UCLA is coming back!

SEC Favorites

Because the Bulldogs defeated Clemson, they now have a fantastic chance to climb up the rankings. Georgia is one to keep your eye on, as they will smash through the SEC games until they are up against Alabama. We think both Georgia and Alabama will make it to the CFP, so even if the Bulldogs lose to the Crimson Tide, they will have a second shot to beat them!

The player to watch out for is JT Daniels! He has all the power in Georgia. As their quarterback, he has been excellent at playing against solid competition, and his offensive maneuvers can push through many defensive tactics. Paired up with Darnell Washington, these boys can hold their own against anyone.

The front seven of Georgia’s defense are a talented and determined bunch. This year is their year!
