2023 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 38 Days (Drew Pearce)

The 2023 edition of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown is officially underway! We are counting down from 100 to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season. Each day, we will look at one (or two) players on the current Indiana football roster and highlight the player’s role in the upcoming season. Today we look at defensive back Drew Pearce.

Name: Drew Pearce

Hometown: Tipton, Indiana

Position: Safety

Year: Redshirt Sophomore

Height/Weight: 5’11”/182 pounds

Pearce, a local Indiana recruit, is a walk-on student currently in his redshirt sophomore season. He hasn’t seen the field for the Hoosiers but has been named scout team player of the week for special teams on two different occasions in 2022 (Illinois, Michigan State).

In high school Pearce was awarded “Player of the Game” 18 times, showing off his athletic potential.

Pearce will hope to see special teams snaps in his 2023 season and challenge for a key backup role defensively.
