2023 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 19 Days (Josh Sanguinetti)

The 2023 edition of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown is officially underway! We are counting down from 100 to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season. Each day, we will look at one (or two) players on the current Indiana football roster and highlight the player’s role in the upcoming season. Today we look at defensive back Josh Sanguinetti.

Name: Josh Sanguinetti

Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Position: Safety

Year: Redshirt Senior

Height/Weight: 6’1”/195 pounds

Sanguinetti saw his first starts come in the 2021 season where he tallied 17 tackles, 4 pass breakups, a fumble recovery and an interception in two starts and eight total appearances. He missed the other four games of the season due to injury.

Last season he set a career high in tackles with 6 in the season opener against Illinois. He finished the season with 22 tackles, a pass breakup and an interception.

Following the end of the 2022 campaign he entered the transfer portal. A couple of weeks later he withdrew his name from the portal and decided to run it back with the Hoosiers for their 2023 campaign and his redshirt senior season.
