Just a colander month separates us from the kickoff of the 2022 season.. With 30 days left until IU faces Illinois, we take a look at defensive back Louis Moore.

Louis Moore (Junior)

Hometown: Mesquite, Texas

Height: 6’1”

Weight: 180 Pounds

Position: Defensive Back

Moore was a late add from the JUCO ranks prior to the 2022 season. At Navarro College, Moore played wide receiver and safety. He was very productive on the offensive side of the ball as he totaled 48 receptions for 713 yards and five touchdowns in 2020 and 2021.

However, at IU he will be playing defense. At Navarro he amassed 18 tackles, two for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup. Moore’s athleticism make him a player to watch to break into the rotation, especially on special teams.

Hoosier Huddle talked to Moore when he committed he described his style.

““I’m a competitor, and I’m bringing that attitude to Indiana, and everybody loves my ball skills and I’m a ball hawk on defense, and I get that from my time of playing receiver, and I can’t wait to make that impact at Indiana.” Moore said.

IU needs more ball hawks and if Moore can prove that in fall camp that he can take the ball away, head coach Tom Allen will find playing time for him.
