The Hoosier Huddle countdown to kickoff is underway! Over the next 100 days, we at Hoosier Huddle will feature every player from the 2022 roster in anticipation of Indiana’s first game of the season against Illinois in Bloomington. Today, we will highlight one of the newest members of the Hoosiers, tight end Ryan Miller.

Ryan Miller (Freshman)

Hometown: Chagrin Falls, Ohio

Height: 6’6”

Weight: 221 Pounds

Position: Tight End\

Indiana welcomed twenty-five players during the early signing period back in December, one of which was Ohio tight end Ryan Miller. Miller joins the Hoosiers as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, ranked the 22nd best player in Ohio and 37th overall tight end. He caught 23 passes for 204 yards and five touchdowns, despite missing a majority of his senior season due to injury. Miller brings great length and athleticism to a room that will be adjusting to the departure of Peyton Hendershot, who has dominated the majority of the position’s snaps the past few seasons.

“Just a really long athlete that we know can flex out, we can put in the box, and plays multiple sports and has been a part of a really good high school football program that is used to winning,” said Tom Allen in December. “Ryan is a guy that it's a huge need for us to be able to find tight ends that have length and athleticism and have a great frame to put weight on.”

Miller will likely spend the majority of his freshman season adding weight and strength to his impressive frame, in order to prepare him to be a versatile tight end in the Big Ten. He projects to be a great, tall target for Indiana quarterbacks as he continues to develop.
