The Hoosier Huddle 100 day countdown is officially under 25 days. With that few of days left before the Indiana Football season kicks off, the hype is starting to build, the fans are getting restless, and the players are finally popping pads in Bloomington. Today, we’re taking a look at Redshirt Sophomore Bryson Bonds.

Hailing from Crowley, Texas, Bryson Bonds is one of the most promising younger DBs on the team. Although he redshirted the 2021 season due to injury after making one tackle in the beginning of the season, he played in eight games during the 2020 season. He made his debut in the famous pylon dive win over then no. 8 Penn State. Bonds may not have the stat sheet backing him up as an up and coming talent, but the fact that he was able to play in eight games as a true freshman speaks volumes about his work ethic and talent.
This year, his stock is looking way up. Head coach Tom Allen sung his praises in a press conference the other day, saying, “Bryson Bonds is another one. We lost him last season (to injury) and he’s had a really good spring.” The defense for Indiana has a serious opportunity to be competitive this year, most likely with Bonds well into the fold.
Bonds had a wonderful high school career at Crowley High School in Texas. He was a two-time all-state honoree and closed out his career with 300 tackles, 15 for loss, six interceptions, 30 pass breakups, eight fumble recoveries, six touchdowns, and two blocked field goals. A stat sheet like that is why Bonds is promising for Indiana moving forward.
