#16

The Hoosier Huddle countdown to kickoff is just over two weeks away! For the 100 days leading up to kickoff, we at Hoosier Huddle will feature every player from the 2022 roster in anticipation of Indiana’s first game of the season against Illinois in Bloomington. Today, we will highlight two members of the Hoosiers donning the #16 jersey this season: Jordan Grier and Grant Gremel.

Jordan Grier (Sophomore)

Hometown: Ellenwood, Georgia

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 199 Pounds

Position: Defensive Back

Jordan Grier may have thought his first year in the state of Indiana would be mainly a development year, but with the injuries the Hoosiers faced on defense last season, paired with the flashes he showed in practice, Grier earned six games of playing time last season. He played at both safety and on special teams, tallying his first career tackle in the Rutgers game. Grier has continued to develop and is a name to look out for as a depth piece for Indiana’s secondary this season.

“Jordan Grier,” Coach Allen said earlier in preseason camp when asked about younger guys that have stood out to him. “I know he's not a freshman, but just kind of he comes to mind. He's really flashed to me from a year ago to now. I think guys like that who have been here.”

Grier can be seen forcing a takeaway in this clip from fall camp.
