The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to 2021 Kickoff is in full swing, and today we have ourselves a double feature. Two players will wear the No. 95 jersey this season, and the first is none other than Sean Wracher.

Sean Wracher

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 200 pounds

Hometown: Akron, Ohio

Position: Junior Long Snapper

Junior Sean Wracher has been the unsung hero of the Hoosiers special teams’ unit. His position may not be as flashy, or popular, as a punter or kicker, but it could arguably be more important. Without a quality long snapper, it would be nearly impossible to get off a strong punt or accurate kick. Wracher is more than a quality long snapper. He is a phenomenal one.

Coming out of high school, Wracher was rated a five-star prospect by Kohl’slicking.com and was the No. 1 long snapper according to Kornblue Kicking. He chose IU over schools such as Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and the Air Force.

“So you don't really know, but just when you think about it, a guy that jumps out to me, you may not expect this, is Sean Wracher. Even though he's a long snapper, he may be our starting long snapper. So that guy has a huge role, big shoes to fill, but at the same time, a very, very important role on this team coming in as a true freshman. So that would be the first guy I think of.” Said head coach Tom Allen after Wracher committed to Indiana in 2019.

Wracher has definitely lived up to Allen’s high praise. Since joining the Hoosiers in 2019, Wracher has started in all 21 games possible. He has been the rock for the kicking game. In 2019 as a true freshman, Wracher was awarded third-team All-Big Ten honors. He followed that up by making the fourth-team All-Big Ten in 2020.

The 6’4”, 200-pound long snapper will slot into his usual position in the 2021 season. Wracher hopes to continue his “Iron man streak,” and start in every game next season.
