The 2021 countdown continues! The Hoosiers will travel to Iowa City to take on the #16 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes on September 4, only 81 days away. Name: Camron Buckley

Position: Wide Reciever
Year: Graduate Student
Height/Weight: 6’2 / 190
Camron Buckley transferred to Indiana on May 24, 2021, after a solid career at Texas A&M. A three-star wide receiver according to 247 Sports and four-star according to Rivals, had an outstanding high school career earning Under-Armor All American honors.
Buckley decided to attend Texas A&M over offers from Arizona State, Auburn, and Colorado. This past season Buckley missed the entire season after a season-ending knee injury, but he still was a productive player and played a role in Jimbo Fisher’s offense. In his three years, Buckley played in 39 games at College Station, had 62 receptions, and averaged over 14.1 yards per catch.
Tom Allen loves the experience and competitiveness that Buckley will bring to the Hoosiers this season. Allen states, “Cam has caught a lot of footballs and made a lot of big-time plays in the SEC. He brings experience and leadership to the wide receivers room. We’re excited about the playing-making ability he adds to our offense.”
Buckley only made four starts in his 39 games with the Aggies, but he will more than likely start and receive a lot more playing time with the Hoosiers. After Whop Philyor’s departure to the NFL, Buckley will look to take his place and compete with Miles Marshall, David Baker, Jordyn Williams, and Javon Swinton.
Buckley talked about the choice to come to IU as a business decision. “Leaving Texas A&M was a business decision. I still love College Station, I love A&M, I love the coaching staff over there, but leaving was a business decision for me personally. IU was the best place, the best fit, for me.” Buckley said.
He is excited about the coaching staff and the personnel the Hoosiers have returning in 2021. “I just looked at the offense. I love what this team is doing.” Buckley said. “I love what Coach Tom Allen and Grant Heard are doing with the wide receivers. We have a great quarterback coming back. To come in and be part of this offense means a lot. I will make the best of it.”
Buckley can play either inside or outside receiver positions, which gives IU another versatile weapon. He was injured in fall camp prior to the 2020 season, but participated in Texas A&M’s spring practice and said he felt about 95-percent.
