The college football season is so close we can nearly smell the freshly lit charcoal from the parking lot. We have just 20 days until the Indiana football season kicks off against the No. 18 Iowa Hawkeyes in Kinnick Stadium. Today we feature two players who wear the number 20, running back Tim Baldwin Jr. and DB Joseph Daniels Jr.

Name: Tim Baldwin Jr.

Hometown: Nokesville, VA

Position: Running Back

Year: Sophomore

Height/Weight: 6’/211 pounds

In high school, Baldwin was an all-state selection after running for 1,604 yards on 233 carries with 25 touchdowns over his senior campaign. He burst on to the scene in 2020 with a career-best performance in the Hoosiers victory over Maryland. He ran for 106 yards on 16 carries that game. In total, Baldwin ran the ball 22 times for 141 yards.

His role is expected to get better after the departures of Stevie Scott to the NFL and Sampson James to Purdue via transfer. “I think Tim showed in the Maryland game what he can do at this level.” Indiana head coach Tom Allen said prior to fall camp opening.

Baldwin will be trying to impress new running backs coach Deland McCullough in order to find his way into more carries this fall. He will be competing with Stephen Carr, David Holloman and Trent Howland as well as walk-ons Charlie Spegal and Davion Ervin-Poindexter for snaps.
