@gros-louis try a search for “The President’s son”.

Better yet. Actually read the whole thing before sharing it with us.

The White House is a good start. Now let's expand it to the rest of the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Judicial Branch.

I think if you're a gov't employee with access to info like this, your holdings should be in a blind trust and any additions to those holdings should be funds or ETFs only.  Betting markets should be off the table too.

Let them trade but make disclosure immediate. Immediate paper trail.

I don't really give a shit if some clown lost his money because he didn't think we would attack Iran

How about if (for example) Jared Kushner made tons of money betting on the timing of the Iran attack, after setting in on meetings to plan the attack?

I don't care if it's Kushner, Trump Jr., etc. it's disgusting and unethical as hell. But, is it illegal? Does the CFTC have MNPI rules and regs? I don't think it has a fully developed trading regime like the SEC.

I don't even think Polymarket falls under CFTC jurisdiction yet.

That doesn't mean I condone it - but you can't do anything if no laws or rules are being violated. If they are, then go after them via an investigation.

Trump couldn't get away with any of this if he were a politician. He was upfront about that from the beginning, "I'm not a poilitician." He's not as dumb as liberals think. If he ends his second term with less than $10-20 trillion in personal wealth it will be a comical failure on his part. You have to admire him. There's only one position protected from prosecution by the Constitution and Trump figured it out. Genius. Guaranteed he'll give himself a blanket pardon before the day before he leaves office.

It’s illegal and this arrest is almost certainly not the last.

@aloha-hoosier

that’s a bit different than a typical insider trading scenario because the DOJ has a clear breach of duty by using classified information for his benefit. If you wanted to prove that the White House staff or relatives traded using the same information, it still differs from SEC enforcement and the breach of duty will be less obvious if there isn’t direct security clearance and confidentiality agreements.

I stand corrected, in Nov 2025, the CFTC began legal oversight of Polymarket. Which is why CFTC is also filing suit against the soldier. I don’t think it has a clear of a case though.
