Take any of those "hard" conditioning drills in basketball, and then put on a weighted vest, and clench all the muscles in your body as hard as you can while doing them, and periodically cut off your breathing supply all together... that's a better representation of what Wrestling practices were like. And that's if you're not trying to cut weight.

We played floor hockey in elementary PE. Sticks and a hard yellow plastic ball. Eventually couldn't do it anymore after we realized that the gym teacher couldn't see everything and a kid lost a tooth in some stick play away from the puck/ball.

@hooky old man again but I don’t see kids doing any of that outside anymore
@bar-down Hardly ever. 10ish years ago, the culdesac we live on would have a hockey game going on a few days each week, but those kids are all grown and gone. Now we have a neighbor that has kids who ride bikes in full pads. Parenting has changed so much.
