@mcm666 I have no problem with tariffs on the whole, just the idea this is free money. China isn't paying it. Someone is. If I am not paying when I buy something, the corp is either reducing dividends or costs and costs almost always mean wages. If people would rather pay more taxes through fewer jobs/wage cuts/higher prices, fine by me.

@arthur-dent when I send shit it went up 19 percent and when I receive it it went up 19 percent. That’s a big deal. Our margins generally are 50 percent. So we are okay. Not good. Okay. But there are loads of micro and small businesses with much tighter margins. Tariffs are a big big deal and it’s not like you can just raise prices. Some can. Not all.
@arthur-dent it's just a tax. If the economy continues to hum along the question becomes do they increase them? If I was a Democrat politician my main policy idea would be for them to cut incomes taxes and increase tariffs.
