Apple says they will pay $1.1 Billion this quarter. That money is coming from somewhere. Wages, R&D, dividends, somewhere. We can all agree Apple doesn't have a magic fairy waving a wand paying it?

Wasn't the magic fairy supposed to be China?
@unclemark it was supposed to be China, but I have not seen proof they are paying it.

Fvcking media.
@unclemark I have no problems taxing corps, and that is what this is. But when I suggested it I was a socialist out to destroy American corporations. Trump taxes then and he is a brilliant capitalist.
And exponentially worse than anything the crazy Dems ever considered trying.
How quickly you forget these...

Not sure I'd call it socialist. It's certainly anti free-market and pro-govt- involvement in the markets, none of which is necessarily a bad thing unless you're an idealogue about free-market economics rather than a pragmatist who looks at the data and is willing to acknowledge some trade offs of efficiency are worth it to advance other values.Without a doubt, the Trump administration is the most socialist administration we've seen since LBJ.
$550 billion in a sovereign wealth slush fund from Japan that Trump and cabinet will decide how to disburse. Taking a 10% stake in Intel.
Free market capitalism is dead. DC and Daddy Trump will decide how to best allocate capital.
All socialists should rejoice. They've got a champion in control of everything. Central planning has a great track record
Free market ideologue? Perhaps. Government pessimist? Definitely.
@jdb old mitt had a field day with those. Bankruptcies. Sold off to Chinese companies and shit
A survey by Duke and 2 Fed banks of CFOs has the CFOs saying inflation would be 1/3 less without tariffs.

@snarlcakes AOC is running for president. She’s pimping for the nyc socialist mayor. She loves that dude.
there’s a reason we have Trump. The other side is that reason
No arguments here. Trump 2 is the best President of this century.
To this point, 2nd term Donald is the best president of the last 50 years.
That doesn't mean everything he promotes is a good idea. The poster's complaints here are legit.....but its been going on since the Lee Iacocca and Chrysler bailout. The Green New Scam was a great example from the Biden administration. The federal government picking winners and losers is always bad news....not efficient or moral.

For the long-term, the tariffs were a good idea. For 50 years people complained about unfair trade practices and nothing was done. But for the 15 years or so prior to Trump the complaints had pretty much disappeared. Trump brought the issue back to life. Without him, nothing would ever have been done.
Would you rather have AI and Border Czar Kamala in charge?
Are you a govt pessimist about the Fed?Not sure I'd call it socialist. @mushroomgod no this iteration of dems are teh worst dumbest politicians i've ever read/heard. they would turn us into a 3rd world country. they're that fing bad.
i'm cool with trump's tariffs in theory. for me the issue is timing. biden gave us a 40 year spike in inflation. people have not adjusted to those new elevated prices. to then add to it, is a bridge too far. i'm happy with trump. obviously. and again i'm fine in theory with tariffs. but not right now. it's too hard on the general public
