@ohio-guy Looks like MAGA wants actual $250 bills, with Trump's face, printed. Current law prohibits a living person from appearing on US currency, but some Pubs are pushing legislation that would allow an exception for Trump.
With all the problems currently facing the country, MAGA legislators are actually wasting time on Trump vanity projects. And Scott Bessent at Treasury is anxious to waste money and resources printing these bills that would have limited use anyway (what average Joe retailer would even accept them?).
In the same vein, did you see any clips from the Cabinet meeting this week? These meetings now regularly feature an around-the-table round for lavish praise of the president, stopping just short, it seems, of blowjobs. I mean, seriously - - this is Kim Jong Un stuff.
yeah - I saw that about the push for real $250 bills. That's just dumb and should be dismissed out of hand. What's sad is if those bills actually come to pass, there will be some people out there who could actually use the $250 in their weekly budget that will frame one of those. 'Sorry kids, we're eating ramen and ketchup all week'...
I wish news outlets would stop airing those Cabinet meetings. I wish the mainstream media wasn't so scared of Trump.

1A, @ohio-guy . It's still, for now, a powerful tool. Use it or lose it.
Legal education has fallen off a cliff
The “slush fund” mechanism has been around for generations. I’ve been on both sides of that and I go waaaay back. The only thing different now is vocabulary. In other words, Trump gained talking points and people go ape shit.
Curious, do you know a lot of Republicans who deny they voted for GWBush or who admit the Iraq War was a mistake?Megyn Kelly was in an interview yesterday and she expressed shock at just how corrupt Trump and his family have been this term.
I mean, OK, glad you're finally realizing this, but seriously? People have been screaming about all the ways that the Trump business has been scamming people for over a decade, and now that Trump's popularity numbers are finally dropping to the point where public opinion is turning against him, NOW is when you express your concern? Like this is some new unknown realization?
It was said in a different thread a couple of weeks ago (I think by Aloha?), but it will interesting to see Republican opinions 5-10 years from now. I think the number of people that are going to (falsely) claim that they never voted for him is going to become a much more common occurrence.

Former, no.
Latter, yeah. Quite a few.
Sounds like another reason to shift to bitchcoin.@ohio-guy Looks like MAGA wants actual $250 bills, with Trump's face, printed. Current law prohibits a living person from appearing on US currency, but some Pubs are pushing legislation that would allow an exception for Trump. If Trump wants to sell fake $250 bills with his stupid face on it or do another season of The Apprentice when he's out of office, he can knock himself out for all I care.

@bulk-vh correct. I’m so glad I listened to snarl and leveled up on Bitcoin. It’s been a great investment. Having Boogerballer and snarl as my financial advisors has simply reinforced my belief that you really don’t need people in your corner with any finance training.

There has been a process and funding to pay those who have a legitimate grievance against the government. This isn’t it. It’s not the same funding or the same process. Slush fund is the legitimate term for it and it’s worthy of legitimate outrage not weak defense such as yours.Legal education has fallen off a cliff

@co-hoosier You familiar with the "case or controversy" requirement? I assume so since you claim to be a lawyer. How was that satisfied here? Which parties were adversarial?
The judicial system was manipulated here, and the court was deceived. It was a sham and a fraud.
Irrespective of the illegality of the fund's creation, I asked you a week ago if you're cool with convicted cop-beaters and other violent offenders being able to tap into this fund. You never responded. How about now?
This is pretty ignorant post. The funding is the same. The process hasn’t even been determined. And there will always be disagreements about what is a “legitimate “ grievance against the government as the Bobbitt claim shows
The comments about this issue is a perfect example of the bandwagon affect It begins with legal ignorance, is nourished by “ I can be more outraged than you” and now has metastasized into total foolishness
Which parties were adversarial?
The case will be dismissed, and the so-called settlement is extra.judicial. Case or controversy has nothing to do with it. I won’t defend what Trump is doing nor how he is doing it, but I also know this is no biggie. He is campaigning and putting meat on his weapoization bones.
You’re very wrong and I no longer care why your Republican principles about corruption and ethics no longer exist. It is a real shame. This is pretty ignorant post. The funding is the same. WTF are you talking about? and you're asking coh if he was a lawyer? physician heal thyself. case or controversy has absolutely zero to do with this shitty deal. the parties dismissed. there's no pending action. they are free to do anything, including settle. that's why teh ONLY germane question was if this type of case operated like a true tax case where in the tax court settlments have to be approved by a judge. my guess is that trump's peeps were smart initiated in the dist ct and could dump it and settle. there were no dispositive motions filed or heard apparently before the parties dismissed and settled. but case or controversy has nothing to do with parties settling outside of court

100 percent. dirty as shit (conflict/bias/influence) but has nothing to do with case or controversy. i smell people who read law articles and opinions but have never been in a court room. they dismissed and it's an out of court settlement. has NOTHING to do with case or controversy. unless there's something i'm unaware of if the party is the fed gov. but two parties can do anything they want outside of court
