Scotland on top of their group. Who would have guessed that?

I'm loving the vibes so far!  As a country, we've been really good at phucking up positive vibes of late.  Hopefully we can continue to embrace all these people for another month and a half, and keep having a good time together.  This is why sports take up 95% of my idle time, in my mind and in practice.  The alternatives are pretty shitty, right now.

It’s been a pretty remarkable year so far.

It’s not the “country” though. Those who can’t celebrate a hockey gold because of sexism or something or going around the moon because space travel is an Elon thing or UFC fights at the WH because they think it’s gauche or hosting the World Cup because they think the average American is an embarrassing asshole and those who can celebrate those things breaks down pretty cleanly along political lines.

@carramrod Oh I think it goes both ways... plenty not celebrating the Knicks title as much as they should be... because of the people sitting in Celebrity row.  Tons of people all sorts of worked up because Mendoza didn't make the trip to the White House.

I just know the vibes seem great, right now.  Hopefully no one ruins it with political bullshit... from either side.  Just enjoy all these people with weird voices and weird names, having the time of their lives, and showing us a thing or two about how to do it... while we do the same for them.

Its VERY cool, to me, that people from Europe and people from certain parts of the United States (The South mainly), can get a long and have such a great time together.  Most of them are probably polar opposites when it comes to political beliefs.  But they all love sports, and love having a good time.

@bar-down Loving most of these videos like this.  I'm sure some of them will end up being "troll" like videos... for sure some of the Buccees ones have been.  I kinda love that our pride in Buccees allows us to really not care if they were being serious or not.  We KNOW they're badass.  So thanks, whether you meant it or not.  And you know you enjoyed the hell out of them!

There was a good one about some fans from Europe in awe over the Auburn football stadium watching the Argentina friendly before the World Cup.

College football might be the closest thing we have to Euros love for their soccer.

@iunorth why would anyone outside of NY be celebrating the Knicks title?

@carramrod Great story.  Great sports franchise.  Lets back up a couple years... basically the exact group, on the opposite side of the political spectrum, had little to nothing good to say about the mens basketball team winning the gold medal.  Despite it being one of the most exciting Olympics basketball tournaments... ever...   It goes both ways.  I'm glad there's a more universal enjoyment going on, right now, with the World Cup.
