The Reuters/Ipsos poll released April 28 reflected a 34% approval rating for Trump, the lowest presidential approval rating in the history of the poll. And it's not just one poll that shows him in the dumper. In CNN's poll of polls (an aggregate of several polls) released Sunday, he's at 35%, with 64% expressing disapproval. He's underwater on virtually every major issue.
So much of this is self-inflicted. His illegal tariffs raised prices, as did his ill-advised war. And Americans get a stark reminder every time they go to the grocery store, receive a utility bill, review their insurance premiums, and pass a gas station. As skilled a con man as Trump is, he can't convince people that stuff is actually affordable and that all of this somehow comports with his "golden age" nonsense.
The House is lost, notwithstanding redistricting. Will be interesting to see if Pubs can hold onto the Senate.
The Indiana primaries may be interesting tomorrow. How many of the 8 Repub senators who are being challenged due to their redistricting vote lose their races?
At least the commercials will be over.

i think there might be some historical/academic debate on what actually got Trump elected, but I still think it’ll come down to why we elected an unmitigated stupid dumbass twice. They might wonder why some thought he was the best alternative and debate that, but it with all the clips and videos of him proving he’s a dumbass that will be the overriding way he’s remembered.
Trump’s legacy will be like Pintos, bell bottoms and disco music. It won’t age well and future generations will wonder what happened.

He will end up being rated much higher than liberals think (I assume worse ever in their eyes). The emotions and propaganda fades over time and it comes down to what went right and wrong. Take Iran for example. If they're successfully, nobody 10 years from now will give a sh#t people paid extra for gas for 6 months. It will be viewed as a major success. The reality is from a policy perspective Trump has been average to good.

I get all that. What I’m saying is that people will conclusively say he’s an idiot and wonder why some people thought he was the best alternative to the status quo. I’m not debating why he actually might have been elected. I’m just saying history - or maybe conventional wisdom - won’t be kind to him.
Like the urban legend that Taft got stuck in a bathtub or George Washington chopped down a cherry tree, one of the things people will know about Trump was that he was a stupid dumbass.
