He's been on my radar for some time, but I watch a lot of the Kommie channel. But yeah, the buzz he's gotten over the Natalie jab is next level. And it's not just him; everyone is piling on.
I said in the Natalie thread I kind of feel sorry for her. Her infatuation with Trump is not normal, and now her fawning letters to him are exposed for all to see. I wouldn't be surprised to see her leave or at least be given a role that's not in the public eye.

It seems inorganic because, at least partially, it is. I'm sure there are some genuine Ossoff fans out there, but a lot of the hype is coming from strategists who are trying to prop up potential moderates so the race doesn't get going with only progressives as front-runners.

One of there current main candidates in 2028, the VP, is advocating getting the dollar dumped as the reserve currency while his benefactor has fled to Argentina while his AI products are being hooked up all throughout the government. Their rich benefactors are solidly against the curtailing of immigration in any form because cheap labor is good for business, while bad for social cohesion, something rich people are insulated against, well, until it is so bad the guillotines are out and by then it is too late (and they are too stupid to see the warning signs of that already).
I would say that the outlook for the party is bleak, but their opponents are Democrats so we'll have another nearly 50/50 split where nobody can do much of anything and so we will just coast on autopilot ever closer to the cliff. I am a pessimist on what is in store for this country the rest of my life. Something bad is coming and nothing likely changes from any of us until it does because everyone is too comfortable to truly rock the boat even though the boat desperately needs rocking.

Trump's kind of shake up seems to have done very little to push us back in the "right" direction (other than illegal immigration and his court appointments--those are huge wins for him). I've heard some people say "be careful what you wish for" w/r/t to that, and others say "he was sui generis bad, but we still need that shake up from an outsider." I'd say that what we have at this point is a structural problem with incentives--what it takes to get elected automatically blocks those who could offer real policies that would help in the long term.

Vance's comments were a couple years old, but his he was correct on pointing out there are trade offs. It's a conversation that needs to be had.
A quick example. Is it good that we priced a good chunk of U.S. labor out of the global market the last several decades? And how did the polticans and businesses leaders react to that? They chose to import third world slave labor and ship industries overseas. Sure that's great for business owners, multinational corporations, and getting cheap sh#t from China, but it's not so good for 35% (pick a number) of Americans.
And how do you think those people who haven't benefited and much from being the reserve currency are going to vote? They're going to vote for more government to give them sh#t and eventually just advocate for taking other people's shit. That sounds cool, but the billionaires will just leave and we will be worse off.
There are plenty of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th order effects from it that should be discussed so we can policies that dampen the negative trade offs. An easy one would be Congress enacting tariffs and cut income tax on all people making 100k or less. You would instantly make American labor more competitive globally. You can look up Triffin's Dilemma if you want to get an idea of what happens over time.
