The Democrats seem to have hollowed out a manure pile and call it The Big Tent. That’s another way of saying the Democrats are so desperate for support they welcome Nazis, rapists, anarchists, Jew haters, those who oppose our basic governance model, and more in to their tent. In other words they have no standards. Hasan Piker fills venues as adoring Democrat audiences thrill to his message of hate. The Democrat leader of the United States Senate has thrown his arms around El-Sayed and said he brings new energy and talent to the Democratic Party. If you like destroying free speech and hating Jews as “new energy” I guess Schumer is right.
It’s time to admit and face a basic truth: Islam has no intention of accepting a country our founding fathers gave us. They want to change it to their will. They are patient. Just in my lifetime, the positions of some democrats have gone from government of, by, and for all the people to government by what some say. Some are now in office at state and federal government. More are on the way because they provide . . .ahem . . .”new energy”. The big tent is nothing but a shit pile.
@co-hoosier over many years I've admired your faith in We the People and democracy as shown when you refer to "government of, by, and for all the people".
Lately been spending a great deal of time listening to We the People callers on C-Span and reading comments on Meta's social media Facebook.
Quite frankly, after all this listening and observing I am losing faith in We the People and our ability to make sense in dealing with the problems facing our nation. These citizens pride themselves on having common sense. IMO, common sense is the inane ability to make decisions which are smart and safe without having special training and education. Unfortunately, today's problems such as dealing with the national debt requires educated and trained experts and not just ordinary folks with common sense.
This dilemma can be solved by electing people who have the training and education to solve problems such as the national debt. In other words, the representative government chosen by Our Founders versus a pure democracy (government by the people) makes sense.
Finally, in regard to representative government, polls show We the People have lost faith in Congress.
The Catch 22 in all this is that our democracy is facing a dilemma. The common sense of We the people isn't enough, but at the same time we don't have faith in our government.
So what is going to happen? Is the answer to be found in Trump's Unitary Executive philosophy both in his hands and the hands of his successor?
I think We the People is an excellent basis for governing the United States. Today it is put to the test and under tension due to a number of factors. A few come to mind:
Third World immigration. There are reasons why third world countries are third world countries. Racism, intolerance, misogyny, corruption, crappy education, are among those reasons. As they immigrate to the U.S., they don’t assimilate but bring the old ways to our communities.
Voting self interest. American voters have been led to believe that we are divided between good and bad people. Bad people are rich and must pay more taxes. Good people are poor and need more free stuff. Political campaigns nurture these beliefs and attract and create these kinds of voters.
Public opinion manipulation is not fairly distributed and clearly encourages a good/bad model.
Failure of public education among the underclass. Too many leave high school unable to read or do simple math.
Failure of public education in general to educate about capitalism, economics, separation of powers, due process, and other basics about civil order. Too many believe education about these things must be accompanied by the “warts and all” theory in the name of “truth”. This approach blunts the purpose of teaching these ideas and instead focuses on those who abuse the system.
I agree with you that “we the people” might not be sustainable in the present environment. But that can’t mean the we abandon the concept. We must fix it. As I’ve said eleventy thousand times, the fix starts with good quality education.
CoH, thank you for responding to my post. Have a story which is related to your remark concerning "third world countries".
Upon hearing one of our neighbors was marrying a lady from Bangkok she remarked, "Oh no, not a mail order bride from a third world country".
The bride turned out to be a Chief Financial Officer from a hospital which attracted mostly Americans receiving bariatric surgery. She was also a college graduate.
One evening at a neighborhood party the participants took turns answering test questions to gain citizenship given to the mail order bride. The Thai native answered the questions flawlessly while her new husband failed miserably. For example, he declared The Father of Our Country to be Christopher Columbus.
The good news is since becoming a citizen the new immigrant has voted in every election since becoming a citizen five years ago and the husband has failed to cast a ballot.
@hoot the husband sounds disabled in some way and the wife is forging her paper work.
Happy I could help.
Thailand also doesn’t meet anyone’s definition of “3rd world”.

CRD, The definition of third world country has changed over the years and will undoubtedly change in the future, can remember during the Cold War that the countries not favoring the USSR or the U.S.were called third world countries.
CRD, could you elaborate on why you think the wife forged her paperwork?
Today’s Democratic Party (at the leadership level) has finally come out of the closet and shown themselves to be the various flavors of communists that they’ve been veering towards becoming for quite some time…
What we see now from so called “democrats” is a choice between Leninists, Stalinist's, or Maoists all of whose movements historically led to death and suffering for those they governed…
Hopefully those that consider themselves moderate and sane and also care about their children and grandchildren’s future will reject this dangerous lurch to the far left before they take everyone off the cliff with them…

Except for Fetterman, all we hear from Democrat leadership and electeds about the crazy stuff is crickets.

Whatever clot-busting drugs they gave Fetterman needs to be made available to all interested democrats… He went fromwackadoodle to centrist JFK Democrat almost overnight…

Looks like she's nearly finished...

A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

Aside from being a library, the massive building also includes a penthouse suite, where the ex-prez loves spending quiet time.
"He lives there most of the time because, for one thing, he stays away from Hillary," Wagener claimed. "That’s his hideout."
"The rooftop garden is his happy place," he continued. "I can see him demanding to be buried there, even though they’ve got plenty of land at the library grounds overlooking the Arkansas River."
🤣 🤣

The voters that are electing today's left, are as culpable for creating divide and destruction as the flight instructors that taught the 9/11 pilots to FLY, but had no interest in learning how to land.
Morally Flexible. Kinda.
