The United States is failing it's legal immigration population

Dehumanizing an entire group of people has its consequences. Treating them like criminals by making them wear ankle monitors and throwing their lives into turmoil and uncertainty was entirely unnecessary. Yesterday a 20 year old Haitian immigrant took his own life by throwing himself in front of a semi truck on I-70. Pierre Damas Bel graduated high school last spring and started his freshman year at Wright State a week or so ago. He was a soccer player, wanted to join JROTC and eventually train to be a doctor. He was trying to live the American dream. All of it was tossed into question when TPS was rescinded. We're losing our way when kids like Pierre feel betrayed or unwanted here. A whole community is hurting over this. America needs to do better.
