to date, I've never had a to wear a uniform to any job i've ever worked.

I ran out of beer money in the spring of 88 and worked at Mickey D's for a semester.  I'm sure I was a dashing figure in that maroon uniform.

I bussed tables and ran the dish washer at an MCL Cafeteria in the mid 80's for a summer. I actually enjoyed the gig, but the dress code was black pants and shoes, white button up shirt with black tie. The only thing they supplied was the apron and the dumb paper hat. I remember buying a couple of short sleeve white shirts and deciding the sleeves were too long (almost to the elbow). I ended up double cuffing them for that "guns out" look and my boss took one look at me, shook his head and said "this ain't the 50's and you sure as hell ain't James Dean...uncuff the sleeves".

Dude was a legend. Short little unassuming feller, but hilariously quick witted. I remember meeting his wife for the first time, total smoke show. When she left I looked at him and asked "how the hell did you manage to land that?" He just smirked and held his hands about 12 inches apart and walked away laughing.

I really need to watch this movie

Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

In addition, the legacy media bias has become more and more pronounced.  When your mission seems to be to make the reader angry instead of informed, you aren’t going to survive.

I’m a regular reader of the Denver Gazette, an online “paper” than plays it right down the middle.  It has a decent sports and business section to boot.  Much better than the Denver Post. I wish there were such a national paper, I’d subscribe in a second.

CoH, you blame the Denver Post  (presumably an example of the "legacy media") for making readers "angry".

Seems to me we were less antagonistic towards each other and life in general  in the days of Walter Cronkite when the legacy media dominated.

So what the heck is going on?

A lot of people have ended up in food service because they were bad at handling drugs, or alcohol, or bad at waking up, or even just generally bad at other jobs. No one has ever ended up in food service because they were bad at sex.

If you walked in the back door of a Panera tomorrow with a short-sleeved dress shirt, flat-front khakis, and black non-slip shoes (they don't come in other colors at your price point now), you would absolutely crush it. Five minutes of Daniel Dennett would have so many panties dropping, your head would spin.

Taken down for violating editorial standards. That’s what standards are for. The non-legacy media, such as self styled “journalists” and influencers, AKA Twitter Twits, in X/Twitter generally have no standards at all. For example, the dozens of Twitter Twits that incorrectly blamed and named a former Capitol Police officer as the J6 pipe bomber nearly 100 percent have not corrected their asinine tweets or even apologized to the woman after it was found that the pipe bomber was not her but was some election denying  wingnut. The non-legacy “media” is responsible for far more disinformation/misinformation than the so called legacy media. I’ve been a long-time critic of media bias in his the news is presented, but get by the bias and you’ll usually get to the actual facts.

Whereby the boards last true “conservative” offers a full throated defense of CNN.

Whereby the WC’s most invincibly ignorant poster proves once again that he doesn’t know WTF he’s talking about.

Not only don’t attempt to converse with me, don’t snipe either. You to ignorant and stupid to pull it off.

..." you to ignorant and stupid..",

Pure fcking Gilligan ...

You’re right there with him. You’re very stupid and very ignorant, Viktor. That’s in addition to being an unAmerican Russian tool.

Ahh Gilligan with the Russian tripe...

Even Boris and Natasha understand that you are little more than a useful idiot.

You cannot deny your past. It's clear you're a Russian Tool. Much of what you post comes straight from the Russian government's propaganda or Russian controlled disinformation/misinformation sites. You know it, we all know it. I don't even know why you deny it. Do they pay you to deny it?

It would be nice if you were an American patriot, but those days are long gone. When did you decide you hate America, by the way?
