I liked the Superstars competition in the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s, where 10 athletes from different sports competed in athletic events (not their own sport).

Sadly I can remember that major controversy. Those games were silly, and fun. Everyone pretended to take it so seriously, well, I am not sure Conrad was pretending.
Imagine if sports had captains settle rules disputes with, I don't know, kendo swords. Lebron and Jokic face off to determine if a shot beat the buzzer. Fans would flock to games, though we may want to use the training blades instead of real.
