Let Landon Donovan take over the US Youth system. Do it. Let him hire Klinsmann too.
Let Landon Donovan take over the US Youth system
i love that you posted this!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm OBSESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! During my many bans from this website (the owner, exceptionally nice guy, but no experience in policing our crowd who dates back almost 30 Years!) i've been in horrible horrible fights on social media. Just nasty. i've been to two national team mini camps but i'm so much older i've never met him. brian mcbride etc are my crowd. From his new fake hair that he wears unabashedly to his downright destruction of us youth soccer he is fast becoming THE GOAT!!!!!!!!!!! i've loved every last word out of his mouth. i worked for a firm in palm beach that did tobacco litigation and other cases with the giants of the industry. LITERALLY the giants of the industry. Bob Montgomery. dickie scruggs. ron motley. willie gary. THEY don't have the arrogance of a club technical director who played at Drake with a C coaching license. And landon is DESTROYING them!!!!!!!!!!!!! "I go up to some coach in the middle of nowhere Iowa he is telling me what soccer should look like and knows more than i do."
anyway. my current dinner of five: messi. landon donovan. fetterman. kenny j. cormac mccarthy (mcm is dead). Bob lazar can meet us later lol

Well Cormac McCarthy is dead too. So maybe Richard Russo?
If you get a chance, read this.
@larsiu cock and balls. i will read that. thank you. russo is 76 btw. he won't be long for it. also btw cortez sent me this last week on cormac from some twitter account: The twitter guy titled his post: "Cormac was on a different level man"
When I met McCarthy, he implied that the unconscious played a role in his writing. I asked him for his views on the source and power of his own novels, and, seated on a leather couch in the Santa Fe Institute Library, he responded with a kind of parable: "There was a guy who was a great wingshot on a quail hunt in Georgia. He killed everything he saw, dropped 'em all morning. One of the other guys said, 'You're the best wingshot I've ever seen.' At lunch the guy asked him, 'Do you shoot with one eye open or both?' He paused and thought about it. Finally, he said, 'I don't know.'"

The greats just do. They just are. Must be nice.
@larsiu while mired in mediocrity at least we recognize greatness. More than can be said for many
@bar-down Haven't had time to watch much this year. Did follow the Arsenal-Atletico match last week, that was good stuff with some exciting moments.
But all eyes on Scotland tomorrow for me. With two fixtures left, Hearts can lock up the title with a win and a Celtic loss at Motherwell. Any other combination of results, and the league will be decided when the top two teams face off at Celtic Park on Saturday. It's been a helluva finish for a league I declared basically dead just last year.
@goat the first leg of the bayern psg game was the best game i've watched in years. 5-4. the pace was absolutely incredible. i have not watched five minutes of hte scottish league nor have i followed the table at all but i am at once shocked and thrilled to read that about hearts. i hope they win it. that would be outstanding
@bar-down As a lifelong Celtic supporter, I'm honestly kind of rooting for Hearts. It would really jack some life back into the Scottish pyramid.
@goat absolutely! would be great. i've always liked celtic too. one of the iconic ogs. there's an old soccer head here whose brother played for celtic.
. Fucking retirement league.
@jdb who do you think said the following:
"I spent one season in the U.S., I scored more goals than the games I played. I knew that wasn't my level. My level is much higher. When I returned to Europe, I went to a bad Milan and won the league. I would love for FIFA to erase the goals I scored in the MLS, I was on vacation. Although I'll miss their money."
I like soccer a lot more now that AI watches it for me. It tells me:
”For a novice, the enjoyment of watching soccer stems from its continuous flow, the immense skill of athletes, and the high-stakes suspense that builds toward rare, exciting goals. It is a visually engaging, easy-to-follow sport where strategy unfolds like "human chess," offering, along with the passion of, a thrilling, fast-paced spectacle.”
I know I was once in a training facility with top soccer players and there was an iron bar, radius ~2”, under a board. My physical therapist told not to get on the board or I’d kill myself. Then a soccer player walked up to it, left foot on, right on, and he casually moved the board horizontally left and right to the far edges of the board while looking at his cell.
