@carramrod Anything's possible, I guess.  But odds are he had a foot wedge, or two, at a minimum.  I've disliked Trump from the moment I read Rick Reilly's story about caddying for him.  And then reading the constant accounts of his cheating and bullying on the course... seeing the videos of his security detail dropping balls short of traps and hazards... I know of someone that played in a tournament with him... its all true, he moves balls, doesn't count all his strokes, bullies other participants in to accepting it, questions others scores... All of the stuff that's been reported, actually happened, and the guy I know is very GOP...

None of it is a big deal until he starts claiming things like he's claiming, AND making fun of people that likely actually beat him.  A person like him not wanting to spend time looking for balls, even not wanting to spend the time and energy to hit out of hazards or bunkers...obviously not a big deal.  But winning actual club championships...taking actual money from others from bets... when he's cheating.  Normal people have actual fist fights over less than these sorts of things.  There's zero chance someone like you would let someone cheat you like that, without some sort of reaction or consequence.

I get that its funny ole Trump...  But there isn't anything I can think of that's more symbolic of what type of person he is, then cheating at golf and expecting others to accept it...and then making fun of the people he's cheating.

@iunorth Laugh all you want, but remember how they foiled that guy who was going to shoot Trump at the golf course? I bet they don't solve that little caper if there aren't a couple of agents tasked with running ahead and kicking his ball out of the rough or the trap or wherever it landed.

Also, I have been thinking about this on and off all day. I can't get it out of my head. Did anyone else read this article?

Is it satire? Is the author playing it straight? I honestly can't tell.

@goat I can take a lot of the other lies... for some reason, the Golfing stuff is too much, for me.  The entire thing really is a wonderful example of all things Trump, right now.  Golf though... damn it... its a gentleman's game, a game of honor, a game where checking yourself is part of the culture.  And this phat phuck takes a dump on all of that, and gets trophies for it... ANNNND makes fun of his fellow golfers, essentially flicking the dump all over them, who either by force or just by being normal golfers, are actually abiding by the rules and the code.  I don't know how he finds a field of players that will be down with that.  But... as we've seen... honor, codes of conduct, morals even, are as flexible as his waist band, for too many people.

@iunorth good drinks. And if they have a sense of humor they probably find it funny. Laughing at not with. I’d think it was hilarious

@bar-down And its his own club... I think I would probably need a few Good Boys to stomach it... but getting made fun of afterwards... and then others actually glazing him for the victory... man... rough.

I think Trump is one of the more awful humans on the planet.  But I do think quite a lot of "it", and especially his Truth posts, are becoming more humorous than anything else.  He's the greatest Troll in the history of mankind.  But its hard to start opening myself up to him being funny... but then be asked to take him seriously as a political entity.  I can wrap my head around him being a funny, ridiculous, absurd, character.  I can wrap my head around him being an awful, evil, dogshit of a human political entity... doing both is rough.

@iunorth I get it. I’ve had bosses like Trump. Coaches. Partners. I’m a huge trump fan. I like him a lot. And would get a kick out of hanging with him. There’s a uniqueness to him. His humor. The way he talks. People tell me. It’s novel. He’s a great character.  And I suspect a really good guy and a really bad guy at once.  Unfortunately the biggest bit is that he’ll go down as a really bad president.  If he wants to have any sort of legacy he needs to get out of this war and figure something good out in his last two years.  Otherwise he’s the guy who mishandled Covid got us in a war and did nothing to bring down costs all while taking financial advantage of his position

Listen.  Trump is a terrible person.  I honestly don't get why people even remotely kow-tow to this guy anymore.

With that said, while Trump is a con-man, and he will walk away from this presidency a few billion dollars richer, he is far and away not even close to one of the most awful humans on the planet.

There are literally thousands of people on this planet that would slit your throat and rape your wife as you gurgle out your last breath.  They would do it because it is fun.

There are other leaders on this planet who will literally have you killed by firing squad if you sneeze within 10 feet of them.

Trump will eventually answer for his sins, in this life of the next, but he's still second tier.

Because he still holds political power--tens of millions of people support him and he can translate that support into money or votes for (or against) candidates.
