We are getting beat up right now. I think I'm going to lose power right in the middle of this World Cup match.

Anyone else having fun? At least two confirmed tornadoes in northern Indiana tonight.

The daughter, son in law, grandkids and my wife were up at the Indiana Dunes for that. Had to do the shelter on the main floor interior halls tornado drill at the hotel, they lost power...said it was crazy.

Yep, all safe and good. They stayed at some hotel in Portage Indiana and still didn't have power as of checking out this morning and their smoke detector kept going off until they pulled the battery. Oh, and the rain was so hard and sideways it leaked in through their outer walls. Of course elevators were out so the S-I-L had to make carry their luggage down from the 3rd floor in a darkened stairwell with only his cell phone flashlight heh. No hot breakfast or even coffee, or cold drinks for that matter. They had to stop in Valparaiso on the way back to find any business with power to get something to eat.

I bet they figured out a way to run the credit card.

Lake place just over the border in MIchigan got a big tree down, but missed the house. Neighbor got a tree through his roof . He has had his car hit by a tree twice in the last five years. It’s a really woodsy area. Indy was fine in my area.

My son told me that Greenwood caught some of it.   Trees down and that sort of thing.

We had heavy rain down here but that was about it.

Buckle up for Wednesday Indiana

Duke Energy covering their asses:

Our crews are preparing for severe weather; we urge you to prepare as well.

We are closely monitoring the projected track of multiple storm systems that are likely to impact much of the Midwest region starting tonight through early Thursday. Our line technicians and tree crews are diligently preparing and will be ready to respond.

The storm system that will move across the region on Wednesday ahead of a cold front is forecast to bring damaging winds, tornados and large hail – which creates a greater risk for uprooted trees and downed power lines. We encourage you to prepare now.

How are they “covering their asses”?

Seems like a common sense statement

Did y'all talk about the Merrillville tornado in this thread?  The head security guard in my office building had her roof torn off and all the glass blown out of her windows while she was in the house with her son and grandson.  She showed me videos.  Wild.  Her best friend lost her whole house and the tornado killed her dog.  Sad stuff.  12 or so dead.
