GDP at 4.4% and inflation at 1.21% is a really good economy. To my liberal friends you can b#tch and complain all you want, but can MAGA stay in charge and run the economy and border? Please and thank you.  @sharinincarmel the only thing that Murt guy got wrong was tariffs.  He for some reason thought they were inflationary.  If you ever run into him drinking tinis, please remind him tariffs aren't inflationary.

Wtf is 'Truflation'?

Is that like a 'Truth' post?

Good God

@twenty Inflation has disappeared for Trump and his disciples.  For those of us living in the real world, it's still there, it's at 2.7% and "uncomfortably high."

"To say the US has ‘virtually no inflation’ is factually incorrect and a classic Trump overstatement,” Thomas Ryan, a North America economist at Capital Economics, wrote in an e-mail.

Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s, also told CNBC that inflation remains “uncomfortably high.”

“Inflation is especially problematic for lower and middle-income Americans, given the high inflation for many staples such as groceries, electricity, apparel, furniture, childcare, and healthcare,” Zandi wrote in an e-mail.

Ironically, Trump’s tariff policy is putting upward pressure on inflation and preventing the U.S. policymakers from claiming victory, economists said.

Trump says inflation was 'defeated.' Some economists disagree

That's not intellectually honest, though. It has come down significantly from where it was - another problem for the Democratic platform in the prior election. Although inflation may feel "uncomfortable", it continues to moderate, which is what you want to see.

-- attachment is not available --

More importantly, Real Wages are rising, which is as important as inflation readings:

khLNbQ6

The reality is that the inflation rate (via PCE index) has remained steady in the high 2s for the last approx 18 months. And why there was no reason the Fed should have been cutting rates into this... Other than bowing to political pressure.

Right, but my point to the other poster was that it's been that way for a while - yet it is lower than where it was. Would we like it closer to 2%? Sure. Are we in 2022/2023 again? No. If wages are growing faster than inflation, people may not like how it feels, but it isn't going to derail the economy and is net positive for the median worker.

@snarlcakes Most business is small business.  Trump thinks he’s hammering foreign countries. He’s not. He’s hammering American businesses.  Foreign countries aren’t paying the tariffs. American companies are.  So when he says oh yeah Canada how would you like to pay a 40 percent tariff?!  He’s not saying that to Canada.  He’s actually saying it to to any American company who imports hockey sticks from Canada.  Tariffs are nothing more than new taxes on American businesses

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/11/07/how-trumps-tariffs-are-crushing-small-businesses.html

He's a teacher, wouldn't have a clue about running a business.

I switched jobs.

Finally, some good news.  😎

What's your new dodge?

Nonsense.  Inflation is trending down and has gotten better since Trump took office.  That's a fact.  The problem is during Biden's term average weekly earnings decreased 4% and people are still feeling that.  During Trump's 1st year it increased 1.6%.  Average that out over 5 years and people are still poorer than they were when Biden took office.  That's why people are pissed off.  The question is can Trump grow it fast enough to win the House.

Let me help you out. PCE index (Fed's preferred inflation index) was 2.8% for latest available data (November). Expectations were 2.7%.

It was lower before the 2024 election than it is now. You really need to get your head out of Trump's ass and look at real data.

Nothing I said was incorrect.  You've turned into shitter.  Just another disingenuous shit lib.

How about you start with not posting fraudulent data and then tell off others as being disingenuous? You are no better then a troll, at that point. And calling anyone that points out the flaws in your posts a "shit llb" doesn't help either.

@snarlcakes

The people aren't buying that spin. This is Trump's economy now.

You need to work harder and improve the messaging!

Trump's approval rating takes a hit in his first year back in office

Trump poll numbers sink to 42% approval rating amid political concerns | Fox News

Donald Trump Is Losing White Voters—Poll - Newsweek

US factory headcount falling despite Trump's promised manufacturing boom | Reuters

I don't need to work at anything.  I just told you facts.  Polls are cute, but I wouldn't take them too seriously.  We will see in the fall.

If the economy continues to accelerate and inflation cool, Trump's chances of sweeping will increase.  If those two things don't happen he'll lose the House.  It's a really bad sign for either party if they get swept in November.

I don't have time for extended back and forths, so I'm posting this and then I'm out.

Your claim that inflation is at 1.21% isn't fact.  That's fiction.

Here are some facts:

-Manufacturing jobs are in an eight-month decline.

-Job growth is weak.

-The US added just 584,000 jobs in 2025, a big drop from the past few years.

-Outside of the AI ecosystem, leisure/hospitality and healthcare, there's little hiring.  Healthcare accounted for 69% of the growth in 2025.

-Prices (housing, utilities, insurance, food - - including beef and coffee) are still "uncomfortably high."

Remember "it's the economy, stupid." I don't know how this turns around in eight and a half months, when early voting begins, but wishful thinking might be the way to go.

CPI has trended down since Trump took office.

Pretty simple, don't post that inflation is 1.2% when it is 2.8%.

Or for you to imply that inflation has come down... When it hasn't moved in 18+months.

These are simple things. When you are making posts like this, you should be called out for being a political hack. Or a dumbass. One or the other.

I'll help you out. "My bad snarlcakes.  You didn't post anything fraudulent. I was drinking early today and got a little emotional".

Also, no, I'll continue post Truflation because it's more up to date information and a good indicator where government data is trending.  And I'm still right that CPI has decreased since Trump took office 🥜

What you are doing now has no respect among real people. Posting terrible data doesn't help your cause.

"Truflation" said we were at 1.8%.

In January 2024

You are a clown that posts clown data.

Grow up and join the real world. You aren't smarter than anyone. Nor are you not the first clown that hated the Fed. That's only been going on for a century. You aren't any smarter than all the prior sceptics, nor have anything new to provide.

You're not a bright bulb, twenty.  I don't care about someone's opinion who is unable to adjust their thinking when they're wrong and isn't curious.  By the way, you remember when you also clowned on the gold and silver bugs?  Perhaps there is something to sound money?  You really nailed that one.

I already pointed out in a post to JDB that Truflation runs higher and lower than BLS depending on the direction inflation is moving.  As always, feel free to make some predictions (you really nailed tariffs😉).  I'll make them as well and we can see who is right more often. I think inflation is heading down to around 2%.  Lastly, in January 2025 when Trump took office CPI was 3%.  It's currently 2.7%.  That would be lower.

'trulfaltion' is nothing more than online price aggregation.

Why were you posting it as the inflation number when there real numbers available?

CPI has issues too, it's why the Fed used PCE. No real economist is using 'Truflation'... Only someone with a political angle.

As to your other commentary (gold, etc).... All it shows is you have very little background in monetary theory and economic cycles. Like most crypto bros.

I'm fully aware government data has flaws.   Truflation is real numbers twenty.  I follow it because I think it does a good job of directionally where BLS data is heading.   You can follow whatever data you want.  Any comments on where we're heading?  You know because you're super smart after all.
