@carramrod yea, I think I'm done with this conversation.  I'm glad you value Israel as much as I do.

I wouldn’t say that. I’d just offer that you stop hemming and hawing and make an evidentiary based point.

@carramrod Look, I'm not sure what brings you here.  If its to throw personal insults at me you'll win everytime and you're already way ahead.  Is this how you talk to people in person or just online?  I would never treat anyone in person the way you've just addressed me.

Maybe in person over coffee we could have a more productive conversation.

However you said,  "I don’t care what what a reformed jew has to say about Israel, their opinion holds about as much weight as my Catholic opinion."

Since I'm a reform Jew you've already stated my opinion is worthless to you.  So I think it's safe to say we're done here.

Oh, I doubt you've attended more Jewish holiday's, life cyle events and shul's than I have.  This isn't a dick measuring contest.  Not sure why you're trying to prove you're more a Jew than I am....that's kinda weird if you ask me.

And yes I am more Israeli than you will ever be and that's just a fact.  Since you're familiar with the Law of Return, you won't need any further explanation.

Dont worry about responding....I'm done here.

Israelis "are the citizens and nationals of the State of Israel."

Does that describe you?

@eppy99 I love ya brother but please drop it with the "My people, my tribe" nonsense. JDB is also a son of Abraham, he's from Glencoe which is the most Jewish city in the world outside of Israel. You don't hear him doing that. He focuses in on murderous rage towards Muslims.

Jewish Americans opinions on Israel are a diverse as any other subset of Americans. However if you take out the Reformed, half-church Jews and the cultural jews that haven't been to Shul in decades you have the Conservative and Orthodox Jews who are overwhelmingly supportive of Bibi and Israel's actions in Gaza.

Those are the opinions that matter. I don't care what what a reformed jew has to say about Israel, their opinion holds about as much weight as my Catholic opinion.

On the Gaza point in general. 90% of what people think they know about starvation and suffering in Gaza is BS. It's not a problem with the Israeli's not letting in enough food, it is and has been a distribution problem by all available accounts.

UNRWA can't distribute it, it gets commandeered. UNRWA refuses to go into Gaza under IDF escort to ensure safe distribution. Which is nuts.

GHF is doing excellent work actually creating secure distribution sites and getting food into Gaza. They've been pilloried by the Western press because they're not associated with the U.N.

I"m not going to spend too much time responding.  I fear it will mostly become an emotional response.  I'll try and keep it simple.

1) I have no issue referring to them as "my people."  We don't all look the same, pray the same or have the same opinions or idealogies, but if I had to lay my life down for Israel in battle I would.

2) I'm willing to give my life mostly because of the Holocaust.  My wife's family was almost entirely wiped out.  Having a homeland is paramount to our survival.  My brother-in-law is moving to Israel soon becuase of what's called The Law of Return.  This law enables any born Jew to return to our homeland becuase of persecution or just to immigrate.

Saying you'd lay down your life for Israel while Israel is currently at war and has been for two years rings a bit hollow. Hope you can understand that.

Should Israel have checked with you for a more convenient time to lay down your life?

Eppy did a good job of laying out his boundaries while still engaging with you.  Think you should lighten your tone here.

@bradstevens I will stop. But advice for Eppy is to not put your Jewish identity front and center and then recoil when pressed on said Judaism.

Best that a lapsed Catholic punk kid not lecture a practicing faithful Jewish adult on how to be a Jew.

Don’t typically lecture people about their faith. Unless they use their faith to backend every point they’re trying to make.

This was a Democrat point once upon a time. They didn’t use to allow religious diagnoses and prescriptions for problems the government is meant to tackle.

Farva's always been a better lawyer than actual lawyers, a better financier than actual financiers, and so on. Only makes sense he'd be a better Jew than actual Jews, too.

@goat and Americans need to remind themselves of the two sides which would gladly kill Americans.

USS Liberty, 1974

Israeli military killed American Navy , knowing who they were..there was no doubt

The USA is a vassal state to the Zionists.

The Zionist state has murdered Americans  on numerous occasions.

The 'Semites' in question are the Arabs and ethnic 'Palestinians '..the Khazarian 'jews' have exactly zero Semitic DNA.

@qparkerparkerparker interesting, I was not aware of this incident.  Not that wiki is the definitive history, but there does appear to be a large compilation of various accounts.

Since I’m just now reading about this incident of course I haven’t read the various books, but according to the wike entry at this point there is no definitive answer as to what did in fact happen.

According to wiki the only thing that is definitive is this is used by neo- nazi groups to encourage Jewish hate and damage US-Israeli relations.

“The USS Liberty incident is frequently referenced in antisemitic conspiracy theories,[105][106][107] which Cristol said are spread to damage Israel–United States relations. He said that conspiracy theorists "don't care what the facts are; they just want to present the idea that Israel did a dirty deed against the US".[108]A Southern Poverty Law Center extremism monitor, Heidi Beirich, described the incident as a "rallying cry" for antisemites,[109] and the scholar Spencer Sunshine called it a "perennial favorite" target of neo-Nazis.[105] Iranian government-affiliated social media accounts have reportedly promoted Liberty conspiracy theories to incite hatred of Israel and Jews.[110]In 2018, the celebrities Brett Favre and Andy Dick issued apologies after a neo-Nazi group, the Goyim Defense League, tricked them into recording Cameo videos containing coded antisemitic messages referencing the Liberty.[109] Representative Paul Gosar (R-AZ) referred to the incident as a false flagoperation by Israel and the United States Intelligence Community in a 2024 newsletter, which drew criticism from the Anti-Defamation League.[110]”

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Liberty_incident

This whole event does sound suspicious but there is no agreed upon conclusion.

This shouldn’t surprise any of us here that you would spread this as being definitive.  We already know you hate Jews by your Holocaust denying from previous posts.  So I think it’s fair to say this is consistent with your past anti-Semitic posts.

As for your statement that the US is a vassal state to Israel again sounds consistent with your hatred towards Jews and Israel.  If anything Israel and Bibi have made statements that Israel is not a vassal state to the United States.

I’m willing to listen to your reasons why.  This should be interesting.

@carramrod I’ve never said I was born Israeli but of course that makes me part of the Jewish diaspora. As you already know I am free to immigrate to Israel if I’d choose to.  I’m no different than anyone who has chosen to immigrate.  Many obviously have chosen to make Aliyah for various reasons.  As we know those that have been persecuted due to the Holocaust or the anti semitism of the USSR have taken refuge in Israel.  When I was younger I considered making Aliyah for religious reasons.

My brother in law made Aliyah and served in the Israeli army.  He also happened to be present at the terrorist bombing at Mike’s Bar.  He was seen in a documentary describing this terrible event.

His younger brother is planning to make Aliyah by the end of this year.  Neither are fans of Bibi but worry about the rising anti-semitism here in the United States.

I will say my wife’s family suffers from a great amount of generational anxiety.  Their dad was born in Germany inside a Displaced Persons camp post WWII.  Most of their family was wiped out by the Holocaust.  This is one of the reasons I have a strong hatred of @qparker since he has denied the events of the Holocaust.

Since you seem to know a great many Jews you’re probably familiar with this generational anxiety prevalent from many Ashkenazi Jews.
