I don’t see anything wrong with this. It’s a good idea. Should be expanded to the max. Political work? Who cares? Anybody can contract for goods and services from prison industries.
I know a little about the dog training and boarding services offered by the Colorado Women’s Prison. Not forced labor and the inmates must meet and maintain certain standards to work in that program.

Most work details are rewards for good behavior. They're coveted. Not talking about hard labor in chains shit, talking about working in small manufacturing like license plates, or programs like you mention above. Heck, even inmates in the county jail compete for trustee positions.

Yeah, I got your point on that. THing is, that falls under the injustice system, not the justice system.The problem is innocent people were being arrested so they could be turned into free labor

@bradstevens yep, but those aren't jobs most Americans want. I don't want call center work, but it is great work for many (particularly disabled, I have experience working with a call center). So prisoners doing farm labor also would make sense.
