She's been open about her past. During COVID when she was more in the national spotlight she was asked about it in interviews. She's not out on the campaign trail talking about it regularly. Until Ramaswamy put out this ad trying to exploit her lack of a relationship with her estranged mother, no one was really talking about it.

We’ve mothballed Covid in our societal consciousness. Just tried to forget about the insanity that was those 2-3 years. That’s unfortunate.
It revealed who the Bolsheviks are. The ones comfortable with ratting on, casting out, shaming their fellow citizens because they didn’t agree with them on the proper response.
The person who will bar you from entering a business, working, going to school because you weren’t masked or vaccinated will have no problem doing the same thing to you if you have the wrong stance on abortion or immigration or seem to be too Christian.
Knowing this, no elected official who advocated for severe COVID restrictions should hold office ever again. They should all be voted out, if not lined up against a wall and shot.
