The politicians can't con the people when it comes to prices. People know when stuff is expensive and they're struggling to make ends meet. Prices are high and, in many cases, continuing to rise.
According to Kiplinger, gas (utilities) and electric bills are up 9.6% and 5.6% respectively, year over year. Home insurance premiums rose 6.25% January to November (December not yet available) 2025. Some good news - - gasoline prices fell 4.4% in 2025.
Regarding food prices, bread prices are down slightly year over year and egg prices are down bigly. Almost everything else is up, though, and in some cases (beef and coffee), w-a-a-y up. Grocery prices overall are up 2.4% since January 2025.
Trump's poll numbers on the economy are tanking. He's actually underwater on every major issue including immigration. That surprised me because I like what he did in securing the southern border, and so do most Americans. However, the ICE/deportations issue is pulling his immigration poll numbers down.
