Biggest complaint for these cars is range and charging time. How about a battery that gives the car a 600-mile range and can be charged in 9 minutes? EVs are super-fast off the line and the top end ones have a very fast top speed. I have a sport coupe that guzzles gas but is a blast to drive and has a 180-mph top speed (never know when you'll need that speed!). I'd consider an EV Sport Coupe next if that 600-mil range and charge time becomes reality.

We'll see. Overall, they're not down - I just showed you the data. However, as incentives go away there may be an impact. If prices reduce and the 600-mile range and 9-minute charge time comes through, they'll sell. For now, I'm keeping my gas guzzling sport coupe. Too fun to give up.

I have driven one and the 0-60 time is incredible, but I don't want one now. Range is to limiting and charging time is too long for me to consider one. At one time (when I was young and dumb) I probably would've lined up to get a high performance EV. Heh, due to a love of cars and an entrepreneurial spirit I probably curbed several dozen cars in my life. From my early 20's to my mid 30's I would buy, fix/refurb and resell my daily driver. Some years I would average a different car every couple of months. But after spending the better parts of 5 decades now with a vehicle under my ass, all I want out of one is comfort, reliability and simplicity. My old man was a mechanic and had me out there with him wrenching on Detroit Iron for as far back as I can remember. Used to teach me and quiz me on it all the time.
Give me a mid 70's and older Ford truck with the naturally aspirated 300 straight 6, auto trans, crank windows and bench seat and so long as the frame isn't rotten I can keep it on the road for the rest of my life. I can diagnose anything that goes wrong with it and repair/replace everything short of a full rebuild in my driveway in a single afternoon.
They can keep this modern crap. It's overpriced, overcomplicated, built to fail then take it to the dealer to overpay to repair it.

Tesla sold 22,000 of them in 2013. It sold 1.8 million of them last year. That's a trendline that's sharply up. You don't think they'll see as many this year and next?
Without credits, which I said I oppose, they'll likely reduce the price of many of these cars, and they will sell many, like it or not.
