@unclemark really?
I never took him for a poker player, but I guess he would be the analytical type for that kind of stuff.
Hope he's doing well.
@unclemark no cosmic wasn’t the poker player. Cosmic was broke. This guy won a bunch of dough

I don't know how this shit works, but he posted about being involved in some shady Las Vegas stuff, some of it with Art Schleister. But he wasn't a player, just involved in whatever "runners" do.
Are you sure? I remember he had a bunch of stories on the topic.@unclemark no cosmic wasn’t the poker player. Cosmic was broke. This guy won a bunch of dough
.
Sounds like a big deal. The league has been complete trash since the Kobe era.

Per The Bee, the WNBA is claiming they are clean as none of its players can make layups anyway.
Can anyone here play this game?
@bulk-vh I’m sure it wasn’t cosmic. Cosmic was bitching about small rent increases. This guy was playing in the World Series of poker and shit.
Cosmic ran with gamblers and had the best stories. Snarl plays some big games. Eppy isn't a poker player, I don't think, just a big fantasy golf better who won $1 million.Wasn’t it the guy with the super long posts you guys said were full of lib propaganda, so you didn’t read them?@boogie we had a big time poker player on the old board. who was that?
I have been known to play a bit of poker and will happily invite anyone here to a game. No sunglasses allowed, though, and no shuffling machines.

One guy was telling stories of his friend's kid who made it pretty far in the WSOP this last year. Snarl might have played in the main event, I can't remember. I've never played in a giant buy-in tourney like that, but have played in some decent sized cash games and, before kids, attended a lot of underground poker rooms in Chicago.@bulk-vh I’m sure it wasn’t cosmic. i was thinking about all the mobsters i know. some lebanese on their own. others connected to the five families. italians. on the hill. i know mobsters through my dad. then older the lawyers who represent them. etc. hell they sponsored our soccer team for years. mob restaurant. what do they do with their money? just hide it in dirt accounts in the back yard? the ones i know were THE mob here. connected. and they live in shitty little 1200 sq ft houses in lower to middle class neighborhoods. their neighbors are postal workers. nailpounders. etc. why all the trouble to live like that. i don't get it
I stand corrected.
.
LOL. Never that big. Usually would buy in for about $500. A few occasions I went bigger with $1K.@bradstevens you were like rounders come to life!
One game I attended regularly had a little mini tournament every Saturday for $300 buy in. They'd get about 50 people. I'd play that occasionally. One day, I was supposed to go but got tix to a Cubs playoff game vs. the Diamondbacks so went to that instead. Lucky for me. Game got held up. 5 dudes with shotguns and in ski masks. Had them zipped tied on the floor while they took the house money, everything the players had, watches, wallets, etc. No one called the cops after, and the guys who ran it shut down the game. They thought maybe one or two of the robbers were cops.
