@dbmhoosier this is actually an extremely interesting topic. and it is an every day example of how having politicians who don't know anything can impact our lives. these are gig workers. they go do an amazon route in the morning. instacart or uber eats at lunch. costco deliveries. and they can do okay. as much as $40 an hour. flex time. their own schedule.
but mamdani is a typical dem like an aoc who doesn't know anything. you start changing things and now these employees are entitled to workers comp (already pending class actions with spark and walmart), deemed ees and therefore eligible under flsa etc based on the irs etc for indpendent contractors and you will end up taking away what flex workers love and replacing their $35 or whatever they can cobble on their own time with minimum wage jobs they will despise that don't comport with their schedules.
