Trump, who is old enough to remember the Red Scare and whose first dirtbag lawyer (Roy Cohn) had been chief counsel to Joe McCarthy, seems hellbent on resurrecting McCarthyism, no doubt in an effort to deflect attention from his failed presidency (the Iran War debacle, prices rising faster than wages, the deportation shitshow including ICE agents killing Americans in the streets, etc.) and in an attempt to help Republican candidates in November. He's invoked communism almost 100 times in the last few weeks, suggesting Dem socialists are communists. His MAGA base is running with it; there's evidence of that in this forum.
