You’re wrong, but I don’t care. What are your answers to my questions?

I hate the word "projects" around my neck of the woods.

It's always stuff I don't want to do and never get help with that I don't have time for.  The struggle is real out here on the streets.

I didn't realize "Project 2029" was a thing.  Thanks for pointing that out.

It might be beneficial to post the entire Pritzker interview for some context. Did Garcia-Navarro bring up Project 2029 or did he?  Has he read it?  Has he contributed to it?

I just checked the Project 2029 website.  I'm busy and don't have time to read it all, but noticed a section about holding public servants and elected officials accountable.  After quickly perusing it, it appears relatively innocuous.  There's certainly nothing remotely resembling your social media influencer's spin that "Dems aim to jail Trump administration officials once they are in power."

How'd you end up following "The Vigilant Fox?" He says he left a full-time job in healthcare, no doubt after discovering there was money to be made in social media.  He "stopped playing video games, watching sports, or doing anything for leisure, and my sole focus was on disrupting the [Covid tyranny]."  He continues: "For the past three and a half years, I’ve been in the fight—calling out COVID tyranny, helping Trump win, exposing medical lies, driving RFK Jr. across the HHS finish line, and backing MAHA efforts." Oh boy.

Kalshi gives Pritzker a 5% chance of becoming the Dem nominee in 2028, in a range more or less with Zohran Mamdani and Stephen A. Smith.  I wouldn't attach too much importance to anything he says.

You are quite welcome, Bowl.

I don't follow "The Vigilant Fox" or anyone for that matter. I have friends of all political persuasions who send me shit. This was one. So, no, he's not "my" social media influencer. Grow up.

The project issue in my message was a joke (referring back to the hubub over Project 2025) --what Pritzker said about targeting political opponents during his obvious run up for a presidential run in that interview is the key point that relates to this thread.

You can try to gaslight it away by an ad hominem attack on the guy who tweeted the clip all you want (hilarious that you think that's such a damning point when it's the actual video and quotes that are at issue), but it won't change Pritzker's words. Or you can try to gaslight about the following "spin" (link to interview you requested below):

Yes, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has stated that officials in the Trump administration should face criminal prosecution for unlawful behavior and abuse of power, including the use of federal agents in states.

Based on recent reports and an interview in The New York Times Magazine, Pritzker addressed this directly:
  • Criminal Accountability: In a March 2026 interview, when asked if he meant to "criminally prosecute" people in the administration, Pritzker responded: “Criminally prosecuted, civilly prosecuted. Whatever it is that we can do”.
  • "Taking Names" and "Applying Force": In August 2025, Pritzker vowed to hold officials accountable for their actions in Illinois, specifically saying, "We are watching and we are taking names," and that he would ensure they "face justice". He added that "history tells us we often have to apply force needed to make sure that the arc [of justice] gets where it needs to go".
  • Resisting Federal Actions: Pritzker has vowed to use "every lever" of state government to fight what he terms the "authoritarian march" of the Trump administration, specifically targeting the deployment of federal immigration officers and National Guard troops in Illinois.
  • Accountability Commission: In October 2025, Pritzker launched the "Illinois Commission on Accountability" to document federal agents' actions for future prosecution, aiming to create a formal, public record to "pursue justice and accountability".

These comments come in the context of intense legal and political battles between Pritzker and the Trump administration regarding immigration, the deployment of federal law enforcement, and the withholding of federal funds.

As for your statement that "There's certainly nothing remotely resembling your social media influencer's spin that "Dems aim to jail Trump administration officials once they are in power.":

Hold public servants and elected officials accountable to the rule of law

A republic cannot endure when its leaders stand above the law. To grant elected leaders immunity from prosecution and punishment is to invite corruption, to trade democracy for monarchy, and to render justice a tool of power rather than principle. No title, no office, no election should shield a person from legal accountability for unlawful actions.

The law must bind all, or it binds none. A nation that punishes the petty thief but protects the powerful betrays its founding ideals. To excuse wrongdoing at the highest level is to permit it at every level.

Project 2029’s policy platform is based on the bedrock principle of vigorously enforcing the rule of law for all Americans, regardless of wealth or leadership status. Our policies are designed to hold elected and unelected officials accountable when they intentionally choose to ignore, delay, selectively enforce, or violate the law. These include:

3.Creating a National Truth and Reconciliation Commission to address grave constitutional violations perpetrated by government leaders, including unlawful attempts to suspend habeas corpus, federal usurpation of state control over the National Guard, raids that violate the Fourth Amendment, maritime strikes resulting in extrajudicial killings, and open defiance of federal court rulings and judicial norms. The Commission will have a mandate to recommend prosecutorial referrals for offenders, which will serve as a necessary deterrence for future misconduct, and propose legal reforms to bolster constitutional guardrails and prevent the normalization of authoritarian governance.

@bradstevens

When you combine ignorance and incompetence, with blind partisanship, this is what you get.

First of all, immunity is not above the law.  Immunity is part of the law.  Most every public official, including electeds who object to immunity, enjoy absolute immunity for many functions and qualified immunity for many more functions.  The reason is to avoid the kinds of prosecutions that this document clearly contemplates and advocates.  Government can’t function without immunities.

Secondly, we have real world experience with Article Iii judges ordering Article II officials how to do their jobs.  The Supreme Court has been clear eyed about maintaining separation of powers.  The highly biased trial judges not so much.  The point is judges violate the constitution also— but they are . . . .ahem . . . Immune.

I don’t know what your first sentence means.

Geez, why so hostile?

I get shit sent to me all the time as well but, if it’s shit, I don’t re-post it.

Pritzker’s a blowhard and doesn’t have national appeal. I think there would be little appetite for another porky, older, out-of-touch billionaire at the top of a major party national ticket.  Any “run up for a presidential run” on Pritzker’s part will likely be doomed.

If you wanted the focus to be squarely on Pritzker’s comments, then you should have simply posted a link to the interview. But you initially posted just a short clip from the interview through the lens of an anonymous “citizen journalist,” with a pro-Trump agenda, who wants eyeballs, followers, clicks and cash.

Do you take issue with the portion of “Project 2029” (I can’t even believe we’re talking about this in early 2026) document that you’ve specifically referenced?  Looks ok to me.  And, no, it doesn’t specifically target Trump administration officials for jail, as the influencer suggests.

It means if you put ignorance, incompetence, and partisanship in a blender, that is what you get.

Geez, why so hostile?

Didn’t intend hostility.  Sorry.

It’s not just prizker. Susan race made similar comments.  So has Schiff and a handful of others.  I think the sentiment contained in Project 2029, is a problem.

Best would be to sentence Trump and his cronies to live in the projects for a year or four.

Retribution against FBI agents and DoJ attorneys who were unjustifiably fired or demoted for nothing more than doing their jobs as assigned, is going to bite Patel and Bondi in their asses. These two Trump boot licking sycophants doing little more than the President's bidding can't be fired fast enough.

FBI purge backfires: Bondi and Patel facing sweeping political retaliation lawsuit
