Trump has twenty-six months left in his presidency. With the party getting blown out in the midterms, and the crushing defeat being widely viewed as a repudiation of Trump and his policies, will Trump lose his complete hold over congressional Republicans and other Republican leaders? Will they increasingly look to separate themselves from him, and perhaps even join with Democrats in certain legislative initiatives?

Has Trump lost much of his power and sway over the party?  Or will be remain the kingmaker heading into 2028?

That sound you hear? A big crowd running for the exits. Or the rats jumping off the sinking ship.

Trump's going to spend the rest of his life fighting off charges by Democrats.

I think you'll find that he's still going to wield a tremendous amount of power in Republican primaries.  Because those people he motivated to come out for 3 straight general elections in crazy numbers are still going to be there and it's going to be a tough tight-rope walk for someone to distance themselves from him or his policies, particularly if they've kowtowed to it the entire time.
